The Project

All photos were taken from 1997 on as part of my private project to create a database of all indigenious wildflowers. It should simplify determination of species and allow queries like "Show me all yellow flowers in May". Anyway, i've collected a few hundreds of photos but due to lack of time the project will never be finished.

The Website

To share some of the pictures i've created this small website. Thanks to ZOPE and freezope it was possible to implement some dynamic search features which make the site more usable.

Pictures / Copyright

All photos were taken with a Casio QV-2800UX digital camera and downsized to 640x480 pixels for web access. If somebody is interested in more pictures or higher resolution (1600x1200) please feel free to contact me.

The pictures can be published freely as long as this is mentioned in the references.

Taxonomy

The determination of species can be quite complicated if you go into details, especially when there are a lot of subspecies or bastards (for example in the orchids family). Since i'm not a scientific botanist i'm not sure whether all plants are named correctly here. In case you find some incorrect determination, please let me know.
